Opt for a gentle formula deodorant
Opting for clean, natural deodorants without harsh chemicals and aluminum is a great start! But not all natural deodorants were created equal!
Ingredients like baking soda are very harsh on the skin and found in most natural deodorants. This ingredient strips the skin of its natural oils, leaving it dry, itchy and prone to rash.
Fragrance, whether natural (essential oils and botanicals) or synthetic, can also cause irritation and headaches, especially in high concentrations.
With no harsh chemicals, aluminum or baking soda, and concentrations of less than 1.5% fragrance in all our formulations, SONDR Baking soda free deodorant is a great place to start!
Start with a patch test
Before applying deodorant to your little one's underarm, do a patch test on a small area of skin, like the inside of the forearm, to check for any allergic reactions or irritation.
Teach proper deodorant application
No, deodorant application isn't as easy as slathering it all over your armpits! Teach your child the proper application to ensure most effective use, to avoid over application, which could result in skin irritation, and staining of clothing.

Encourage good hygiene habits

In all transparency, the founders of SONDR don't have children, so we didn't really have kids in mind when creating SONDR! As we began developing our product and brand, we were asked time and time again if our deodorant would be safe for kids. Our friends and family members complained about the strong onion odour caused by prepubescent hormones but were also very aware of what they would be putting onto, and therefore into their bodies. They wanted to start then off on the right foot with healthy personal care products.
